Managing DirectorJuan Merino

Juan Merino earned a Degree in Economics and Business Management from the University of Valladolid and an MBA from the IE Business School.

He began his professional career in 1989 at the Spanish Association of Shopping Malls, where he also served as its Commercial Director during a second stint at the institution. In addition, he has also been the Commercial Director for Development and Management of Integrated Centres.

He joined Riofisa in 1998 and has held different management positions, such as General Director of the Shopping Malls and Parks Division, and General Director of Business, before being named Managing Director of Riofisa in 2010.

 
 

Portfolio Management and Shopping Center Division Director Javier Solís

Javier Solís holds a Business Administration and Management degree from the Autonomous University in Madrid, an Executive MBA from the IE Business School and an Executive Degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Javier Solís was named Portfolio Management and Shopping Center Division Director after holding a number of management positions, such as Commercial Director or Director of Marketing and Communication, a position he continues to hold today. During all this time, he has been closely linked to the international growth of the company. He is also Member of the Board of Directors of NECSA, a private-public partnership (PPP) shared by ADIF, which develops and runs real estate projects within railway stations or properties. Prior to joining Riofisa in 2005, he broadened his professional experience working at the consulting firm of Aguirre Newman.

 
 

Business Division DirectorFernando Huerta

Fernando Huerta earned his Bachelor of Law degree from the Complutense University in Madrid, a Master's Degree in Construction and Real Estate Business Management (M.D.I.) from the Autonomous University in Madrid and the diploma for the Executive Development Programme at IESE Business School.

He began his real estate career in the Commercial Department at Eurodomo, then joined the Land Department at the Gomendio Group. He joined Riofisa's Land Department in 2001, and after having served in various senior-level positions, he was named Business Division Director in 2005.

 
 

International DirectorCarlos Pilar

Carlos Pilar earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from the University of Extremadura, an International Business BA from the University of Central Lancashire (England) and an Executive MBA from the IE Business School.

He began his professional career at the international real state advisory firm Cushman & Wakefield, providing specialized advice on the shopping center segment. In 2003, he joined Riofisa as project Commercial Director and was later named Expansion Director, responsible for developing the company´s business on an international scale.

Afterwards, in 2009, Carlos Pilar was named International Director of Riofisa.

 
 

Operations DirectorAntonio Ruíz

Antonio Ruiz is a Civil Engineer from the Superior Technical School of Santander and completed the Business Senior Management Programme (PADE) at IESE Business School.

He began his professional career in 1979 as Technical Director at Prefabricados del Carrión. For 12 years starting from 1980, he served as Director of Construction and Expansion in the Makro Cash and Carry company, before becoming the General Manager of the L.V. Salamanca Engineering firm, working in a broad international environment in both of these positions. In 1997, he joined Riofisa as Operations Director.

 
 

Railway Stations Projects DirectorFrancisco Sanz

Francisco Sanz holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. In 2006, he completed the Advanced Real Estate Business Management Programme at the IE Business School.

He began working as a Site Engineer at Gabinete de Ingeniería (currently EC HARRIS), a project and construction management company, and subsequently as Project Manager. In 1999, he was Project Leader for the Dangar Construction Company and later served as Technical Director at the Imce 87 real estate development company.

He joined RIOFISA in 2001 as Project Manager. In 2004, he took over the management of the Shopping Malls Area and is currently the Railway Stations Projects Director.

 
 

Architecture & Technical DirectorFernando Sánchez de las Matas

Degree in Architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM).

His professional career began in 1988, working on both public and private development projects and jobs. He was simultaneously a member of the Coordination Commission of the Official College of Architects of Madrid.

In 1993 he joined Arquintec S.A., an engineering and architecture company with offices in Spain and Mexico, as Project Manager.

He has been at Riofisa since 1999 as the Director of the Architecture Department, which is responsible for the design of developments, shopping centres and commercial stations developed by the company nationally and internationally.

 
 

Urban Planning DirectorCristina Rubio

Cristina Rubio earned a Bachelor of Law from the Complutense University in Madrid and a Doctorate in Civil Law from the same university.

She joined Riofisa in 1989 as an attorney in the Legal Department and since 1993 she has served as the Urban Planning Director.

 
 

Legal Department DirectorJavier González

Javier González is an member of the Madrid Bar Association, and he earned his Bachelor of Law Degree from the Autonomous University in Madrid.

He joined Riofisa in 1993, and since 2008 he has been the Legal Department Director and General Counsel for the Group's subsidiaries.

 
 

Financial DirectorMiguel Cordero

Miguel Cordero earned a Degree in Business Management from the Complutense University in Madrid.

He joined Riofisa in 2000 as Chief of Accounting. He has held various senior-level positions and was named Financial Director in 2010.
